Untitled (Cirice) is an abstract sculpture hand-carved from a block of European oak and finished with natural wax. Its form takes inspiration from brutalist architecture as well as English Churches - hence the bracketed title "cirice", the Old English for Church. The work however is initially Untitled because at the forefront of the artists' practice is the investigation of shape, form & void within space. ARTIST BIONathan Henton is a sculptor living and working in Cornwall, UK. He investigates Shape, Form & Void within Space through abstract hand-carved wood sculpture, driven by a conceptual process of catharsis through action and the orientation of flow state he hopes to extend himself into the seemingly inanimate, creating haptic ?ritournellising? shapes.
