First edition in book form of Einstein's papers on atomic dimensions and Brownian motion. The volume contains some of Einstein's earliest work as a physicist: Einstein wrote his university thesis on the dimension of the atom, and his 1905 paper on Brownian Motion effectively established the reality of the atom. This copy belonged to Hans Albert Einstein, Albert Einstein's oldest son, with his inkstamp at top of front wrapper; it was very probably presented to him by his father. Issued as Ostwald's klassiker der exakten wissenschaften, nr. 199.

Condition

A little sunning to wrappers, slight tanning to contents; very good.
