Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Autlan type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery figure of a standing male with ample thighs and petite feet. The man wears an incised loincloth, holds both hands neatly across his abdomen, and has a double-ended tool with serrated terminals hanging from his waist. The tops of his biceps are incised with parallel scarification rings, and broad shoulders are topped with a pair of slender straps. Coffee-bean eyes, a triangular nose, an open mouth, and circular earrings comprise his serene countenance, and his head is topped with a hat bearing a central knot element. Size: 1.7" W x 4.625" H (4.3 cm x 11.7 cm)

Condition
Minor chips to feet and hat, with light encrustations within some recessed areas, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout, and nice preservation to facial details.
