Pre-Columbian, Gulf coast of Mexico, Veracruz, Remojadas, ca. 600 to 800 CE. Tall buff clay pottery effigy figures in an animated posture, with both hands raised. Male figure on left holds a rattle in his right hand. He wears a large zigzag headdress on his triangular head and ear clips on his large ears. He has wide, almond-shaped eyes and wide smiling face grin, his chest accented with a textured bands and he wears a beaded necklace. The female wears a large headdress on her triangular head with a monkey at the center. The figure is elaborately dressed in an embroidered skirt, chest band and pectoral beaded necklace. She also has wide almond eyes and wide smiling face grin. Size: Both figures stand 15"H + custom mount.
