Pre-Columbian, Gulf coast of Mexico, Veracruz, Remojadas, ca. 600 to 900 CE. Powerful buff clay pottery standing effigy figures, both androgynous, both hands articulated, hands raised. Both have remains of black pigment around eyes forming mask and magenta hues on high flat pointed triangular shaped headdresses. Size: Each figure stands 12-3/4\"H + custom mount.
Provenance: Ex-Hans Juergen Westermann Collection, Germany.
