This lot consists of a graphite illustration on paper, executed in the modern style of Art Deco artist Tamara de Lempicka (Polish, 1898-1980). "Lempicka" is handwritten in graphite at lower left. The piece has been carefully framed under glass. This delicate pencil study is a beautiful semi-rendering of a nude woman. Her brows are fixed with thought, eyes staring ahead intensely, as she slouches in soft lighting. This drawing is executed in the sleek, Art Deco style for which Tamara de Lempicka is so well known. Framed measurements approximately 16.25" x 13.25".

Reverse side of piece features two identical stamps which read, "Darius Tale Yar Khan. 10 Berkeley Square. London, W1."

Tamara de Lempicka, described as the first woman artist to be a glamour star, is known for her Art Deco-styled portraits of sexy, bedroom-eyed women in stylish dress and haunting poses. Her clear, strong style, sometimes called Soft Cubism, earned her a place at the top of the Art-Deco movement.

Overall good condition. The wooden frame is structurally sound and has a beautiful, warm tone. Image itself shows slight, age-related toning.
