This lot consists of an unframed oil painting on canvas, executed in the modern style of Art Deco artist Tamara de Lempicka (Polish, 1898-1980). There's a handwritten graphite inscription at bottom right corner of composition. Image depicts a stylish woman of the 1930s, driving a sleek green automobile and staring with cold, glassy eyes toward the viewer. Appears to be a study for Lempicka's well-known self-portrait, "Autoportrait (Tamara in a Green Bugatti)" (1925). This painting is executed in the sleek, Art Deco style for which Tamara de Lempicka is so well known. Unframed piece measures approximately 31.5" x 23.5".

Reverse side of piece features an affixed paper label that has been stamped twice, as well as a singular circle stamp below.

Tamara de Lempicka, described as the first woman artist to be a glamour star, is known for her Art Deco-styled portraits of sexy, bedroom-eyed women in stylish dress and haunting poses. Her clear, strong style, sometimes called Soft Cubism, earned her a place at the top of the Art-Deco movement.
