**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca, ca. 200 to 400 CE. A near-miniature, hand-built pottery jar, of a round-bottomed form with gently tapering walls and a thin rim. The exterior boasts alternating white and black panels on the base, a register of abstract bats within separate white-ground panels, and a pair of concentric stripes in between. Size: 2.3" W x 2.55" H (5.8 cm x 6.5 cm).
Provenance: Estate of R. Pearson, Denver, Colorado, USA; Mr. Pearson collected from the third quarter of the 20th century until he passed away., acquired at Arte Primitivo Gallery, New York, New York, USA

Repaired from multiple large pieces with small chips, minor resurfacing, and light overpainting along break lines. Minor nicks to rim, body, and base, with fading to some areas of pigmentation. Light earthen deposits within basin.
