Greece, Rhodian, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 2nd century BCE. A trio of hand-built amphora handle fragments with wide bases and curved profiles covered in a pale orange slip. Each fragment bears a stamped name, one of which translates to "Thomas Yakinthos," and two that are somewhat illegible. Size of largest (Thomas): 3.875" L x 3.375" W (9.8 cm x 8.6 cm).

Provenance: private Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980

All items are fragments of larger amphora handles. Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, chips, and losses to bases and curved ends, with some fading to names, and light fading to slip pigment. Light earthen deposits throughout.
