**First Time At Auction**
Greece, Corinthia, ca. 6th century BCE; Magna Graecia / South Italic Colonies, ca. 4th to 3rd century BCE. A gathering of six terracotta items from over 300 years of Grecian antiquity. First is a rod-shaped handle from the side of a transport amphora. Second is the upper portion of a pottery hydria, a water-holding vessel, with a flared rim and twin loop handles. Third is a Corinthian aryballos with a rotund body and rounded shoulders. Fourth is a light-orange stemmed plate with three red-painted concentric circles inside the dish. Fifth is a tall oinochoe with a bulbous body, a trefoil spout, and red and black designs on the exterior. Last is the bottom half of an enormous lekanis with a footed base and twin lateral handles. A lovely ensemble from ancient Greece! Size of largest (lekanis half): 11.75" W (29.8 cm).
Provenance: ex-Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980

Condition
All items are fragments or portions of larger items. Oinochoe repaired from multiple pieces with small losses along break lines. All items have age-commensurate surface wear, chips and losses around peripheries and to handles (where applicable), hairline fissures, fading and loss to pigmentation, with earthen and mineral deposits throughout.
