Lot essay: One of the longest standing members of the Centre d'Art, Port-au-Prince, as a young artist Cedor joined in 1947 becoming part of the administrative committee two years later and serving until 1975. Cedor re-imagined impressionism as he worked to represent variations of light through color. His paintings were widely exhibited at galleries and biennales throughout Europe and the Americas.In original vintage condition, possible period frame.
