**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery figure shown relaxing in a slanted position atop a bipedal reclinitario. The figure wears an incised skirt around the waist, bangles around the lower biceps, a necklace with a pair of perforated medallions around the broad neck. Coffee-bean-shaped eyes and lips surround the tab-shaped nose and ovoid ear spools, and an incised cap with a thick brim rests low on the forehead. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 4.7" L x 3.25" W x 3.125" H (11.9 cm x 8.3 cm x 7.9 cm)

Provenance: private Colgate, Wisconsin, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s to 1990s; ex-Roger Peterson collection
