**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A pair of cute zoomorphic pottery whistles, each one hand modeled. One features a bat-like face above a bulbous body; the other a pair of monkey heads atop a conical body. Both are playable! Size of the larger: 2" W x 2.85" H (5.1 cm x 7.2 cm); 2.95" H (7.5 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

Condition
Both are intact and playable, with a few tiny chips from peripheries commensurate with age. Light deposits on surface and some abrasion to pigment. Forms well preserved. Old collection number handwritten on ear of one of them.
