Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A sweet and petite terracotta bird effigy whistle donning a prominent crested bird headdress, elaborately detailed with applied filets. Nicely delineated form with wide tail, pointy beak, spread legs, wings, and endearing facial features. Quite a nice piece with generous manganese deposits as well. Size: 2.5" L x 1.625" W x 3" H (6.4 cm x 4.1 cm x 7.6 cm)
