May 11, 1777-Dated Revolutionary War Period, Warrant for the Arrest of, "...sundry evil minded persons in the State have been feloniously guilty of Counterfeiting and Uttering Counterfeit Bills of paper currency emitted by the State of the Massachusetts Bay...", Counterfeiters of Massachusetts Paper Money, Choice Very Fine.
This is a historic Numismatic and Early American Paper Money related, Manuscript Document Signed, "Wm. Greene", as Justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island, 1 page, measuring 7" x 7.75." This tightly written document is a Warrant for the arrest of, "... sundry evil minded persons in the State have been feloniously guilty of Counterfeiting and Uttering Counterfeit Bills of paper currency emitted by the State of the Massachusetts Bay...". The named suspects included Elijah Hoxey, John Hoxey, Jefferey Willcox, Job Willcox, John Cottrell, Berriah Hopkins, and John Heist (an appropriate name!) "a Tranceant (sic) person."
