Description
English Liverpool creamware jug with Masonic designs, circa 1794, the jug of baluster form with a loop handle, having black transferware decoration, one side with the arms of the Premier Grand Lodge of the Order of the Freemasons with the mottos 'AMOR HONOR ET JUSTITSIA' (Love Honor and Justice) found on Masonic tokens from 1794 commemorating the election of the Prince of Wales as the Most Worshipful Grand Master; 'DEUM TIME ET REGEM HONORA' (Fear God and Honor the King); the opposite side having a transfer reading, 'A HEART THAT CONCEALS, AND THE TONGUE THAT NEVER REVEALS' which is a phrase associated with a Masonic investiture ritual, finally having a 'G' in a triangle with a compass and level under the spout, 7.5"h x 7"w x 5.5"d.
