Description
A Rare and finely carved wooden staff with ornate twisted design and the well handled ancestor face and torso with circular area that likely held a reflective object to act as protection from witchcraft and spells. Tabwa or Rungu peoples, Congo, Africa. The staff measures 17 inches tall. Provenance: Field collected in situ by Dean Ripa in the 1980's.
