Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, blue and white dragon porcelain reward vases. Finest porcelain thick vase body, a sturdy vase in a round body, gently tapered, shaped in a rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a tall straight neck, smooth flaring mouth, with a slightly concaved foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The main body adorned with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves vapor in a cobalt blue color dragon squama rounded the bowl to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames. The shoulder decorated with repeating key fret , trashing Lishui wavy and upturning phoenix tail. the upper mouth rim festooned with auspicious ornament, enclosed with repeating interlocking key fret pattern. And flowers blooms interspersed with scrolling foliage and tendril decorated on the foot base rim. Elegancy come with tall hardwood stand carved with scrolling ruyi and Auspicious motif. The Elaborately carved Zitan hardwood frame perfectly accentuates this work of art. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The dragon is also the most important of the four super natural creatures in Chinese mythology, ranked with the Phoenix, the Qilin, and the Tortoise. The dragon is also the symbol of the month March, of Spring and of rebirth and fertility for it brings the rain bearing clouds of spring. When shown with the heavenly pearl, sometimes ball, it represents thunder and the storm. Emblem of vigilance and safety, and frequently associated with the idea of joy. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the carving, and the shape. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman.

Mark on under base, a six underglaze blue seal script characters reign mark, Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
