Dimensions: 11-3/4" H x 10-1/2" W Stand: 26-1/4" H

Stunning, Chinese 15th C. Ming Dynasty, Longqing hanging pot. Finest porcelain tea pot have globular shaped body with domed lid and simply bud finial, the shoulder of the vessel is cast with a set of two flanges. An arched handles flanked from dragon masks on the shoulder. Vase is connected by gilt bronze links to the central hanging jade supports above, held in carved Zitan hardwood rectangular frame stands. The Tea pot exterior body adorned with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves in a cobalt blue color dragon squama rounded the bowl to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames. The Zitan hardwood frame carved with abundant lychee ripe interspersed with scrolling interlocking tendril and foliage. Elegancy come with tall Zitan hardwood stand carved with scrolling ruyi and Auspicious motif. The Elaborately carved Zitan hardwood frame perfectly accentuates this work of art. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. And Zitan is an extremely dense wood which sinks in water. It is a member of the rosewood family and is botanically classified in the Pterocarpus genus. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The entirety is encased in amazing relief carving which gives this box a captivating appearance. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the carving, and the shape. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct.
Mark on under base, a vertical six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Longqing Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
