Provenance: Ralph Reilly, Beverly Hills, CA. Acquired by the former owner's father from Mr. Reilly, circa 1970-80. Ralph Reilly was a prominent collector and dealer of antiques and fine art, particularly modern and contemporary works. [See Pierre Berge & Associes, Paris, June 25, 2014, Lot 6, for a work we sold in July 2013 from the Ralph Reilly collection. The work, a black and white ink drawing ascribed to Franz Kline, although unrelated to the present lot, was subsequently sold to Marlborough Gallery and then at Pierre Berge for the sum of 50,000 Euros.]
