Four Portrait Miniatures in Profile, late 18th/early 19th c., watercolor on card, consisting of William Hamlet of Bath (1785-1816), "Deputy Naval Officer [at Calcutta] Matthew Louis, Esq. (b. c. 1760)," unsigned, sitter's name and family inscribed en verso, H- 2 3/8 in., W.-1 3/4 in.; Albin Burt (1784-1842), "Gentleman," signed lower center, H- 4 in., W.- 3 3/8 in; "Young Naval Officer", ca. 1831, unsigned, frame backing with remnants of handwritten note dated "May 1831" and inscribed "F.M., H.- 2 7/8 in., W.- 2 1/4 in.; and "Lady", unsigned, H.-3 in., W.- 2 3/8 in., each framed, The first two together in a wood and glass presentation case, Provenance: Estate of Dr. Carroll Ball, Jackson, Mississippi.
