18th Century Miniature Oil on Canvas Portrait H.W. Portman Born 1738. This is wonderful small oil portrait of H. W. Portman of Bryanston, England, a young man in period clothing. Henry William Portman (1738 - 11 January 1796) was an 18th-century housing developer, the ancestor of the Viscounts Portman. Gold color engraved plaque on front of art and writing on the back. The piece measures framed H 5.75" x W 4.75", the actual canvas measures 4.25" x 3.5" and the weight is 6 oz. Please refer to all photos. Overall in good condition.
