**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Paracas, ca. 500 to 300 BCE. A beautiful textile sling (known as a "honda") composed of tightly-woven camelid (alpaca or llama wool) fibers in hues of brown and white. The main body boasts an elongated ovoid body with a cream-hued body and brown peripheries, and its central slit - used to house the projectile before launching - has been sewn shut. From each corner of the body extends a slender strap, each with dense shoulders and one with a tasseled terminal. Size: 74.5" L x 1.6" W (189.2 cm x 4.1 cm).
