Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed At $250**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A pretty hand-molded pottery sculpture showing a pair of conjoined, standing women. Their bodies are painted dark red with black and white details. They wear similar, but not identical, headdresses, and both have large earrings that are drilled through - perhaps they once had metal or feathers put through these perforations. This figure is part of the enigmatic West Mexican shaft tomb tradition. Size: 3" W x 4.5" H (7.6 cm x 11.4 cm)

Provenance: private Stagecoach, Nevada, USA collection; acquired from 1985 to present from galleries such as Arte Primitivo, Art For Eternity, Butterfields, and Riverbend Gallery
