Antique German Folk Art bowl. Thick, salt glazed redware clay. Vivid yellow glaze, slipware decorations in green flower, red, brown and light blue. Gerstungen, on the River Werra in Thuringia, Germany, made during mid to late 19th century. Pottery production in the town dates back to the 16th century, and this bowl is a characteristic example of the specific type of earthenware produced in the region.
