A beautiful Greek red-figure footed plate, Apulia, 4th Century BC, featuring a lady of fashion in profile, wearing a stephane, sakkos, earrings, and pearl necklace. She is bordered by a wave motif and a laurel band; vertical tongues on the rim. Well preserved and a very nice example of this desirable Greek pottery type! D: 9 1/3 in (23.7cm). Ex Christopher Terry estate, Cumbria, UK, acquired in the 1970's-80's.
