Description
A nice Greek red-figure amphora, Apulia, 4th Century BC, with pear-shaped body and two strap handles. The vessel is decorated with the head of a fashionable lady, her hair styled back and wearing earrings and a pearl necklace; palm devices below the handles. H: 6 ¼ in (15.9 cm). Well-preserved with light surface deposits. Ex estate of descent from Edwin V. Hill, M.D. TN; thence by descent.
