Description
Origin: Ancient Greeks, 6th – 4th century B.C.
Width with straightened chains – 35, 2 cm. Central part of jewelry 10,5 x 8,5 cm. Weight 63 gr.
A very nice and rare artefact of ancient Greek jewelry art. Gold and semi-precious stones. Composed of five golden segments with stones, connected with each other with small hinges. From side segments chains of twisted golden wire are going and ending with decorated ends and suspension loops. Under this group of segments a pendant of high artistic level, with five bigger and smaller stones and small stone pendant. Pendant and side segments are connected with thin golden chains.
Condition report: Gold with matte patina, small scratches and dents. Stones with certain amount of wear, scratches, dents. In intact original condition.
