Description
Origin: ancient Greece, 4th century B.C.
Height with handles max. 23 cm, width with handles max. 26.5 cm.
Two large, largely identical Kantharoi made of red-ground ceramic, covered with black gloss. Round base ring, followed by distinctive profiling, which merges into a tall, slightly funnel-shaped neck with a curved edge lip. On the side, two vertically extending band straps pulled far up over the mouth. The lower half of a Kantharos composed of a few pieces without flaws. Single chipping on the stand ring. Second Kantharos intact. Aesthetic pair of antique drinking vessels.
