Probably Italy. Turned fruitwood, draw tube with engraved focus staging lines, tube with external threaded adjustment via circular platform, only 2 biconvex lenses (ocular and objective lens), threaded dust cap, on 3 turned wood legs (later), overall height 11 ¾ in.

Frühes Holzmikroskop, Ende 17. Jh.
Vermutlich Italien. Gedrechseltes Obstholz, Schiebetubus mit geritzten Fokussierungslinien, mit Außengewinde am Objektiv, 2 bikonvexe Okular- und Objektiv-Linsen, Okular mit schraubbarer Schutzkappe, auf 3 gedrechselten Holzfüßen (ergänzt), Gesamthöhe 30 cm.
