Description
Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, ca. 4th century BCE. A fine wheel-thrown kylix with a tiered footed base, a tall body, a thin rim which curls slightly inwards, and a pair of high-arching handles. The entirety of the vessel is coated in a lustrous jet-black glaze and is accentuated by faint, scattered areas of silvery iridescence. A small ring of impressed corded patterns adorns the center of the bowl, giving it a personalized presentation. Size: 6.125" W x 3" H (15.6 cm x 7.6 cm).

Condition
Vessel and handles repaired from several large pieces with small chips and some overpainting along break lines. Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, small nicks to foot, body, rim, and handles, with some fading to glazed areas. Scattered areas of silvery iridescence, and light earthen deposits throughout.
