Description
CIVIL WAR ERA SABER, single-edge blade terminating in spear-point, 3/4-length fuller, through tang with five pierced holes, wrought-iron three-branch guard with upturned quillion, teardrop-form pommel cap, all fixed to tang. Probably a Model 1833 Dragoon saber, or modeled after that pattern. First half to mid 19th century. 34 1/2" blade, 40" LOA.
Very good as-found condition, expected pitting and surface corrosion, blade with some slight bending near tip, some signs of later rust removal or sharpening to blade and tang.
