Description
CONFEDERATE IMPRINT VOLUMES, LOT OF TWO, "Journal of the Constitutional Convention Which Convened at Alexandria on the 13th Day of February, 1864", Alexandria: D. Turner, 1864; and "Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Virginia, Passed in 1861-2", Richmond: William F. Ritchie, 1862. First in later 19th century binding with original wraps intact, second in original quarter leather and marbled boards binding. Each with bookplate for Henry Carter Stuart (1855-1933), Governor of Virginia 1914-1918.
First with smudges to front wrap, narrow water stain to lower edge of title page, and light toning to pages. Second with rubbing and small paper losses to binding, interior tight and primarily clean.
