Two Nazca Polychrome Vessels
c. 400 - 600 AD
The bowl, painted on the exterior in two bands, the upper with a repeated step-fret motif and the lower with seed or bean shapes in alternating colors. In good condition aside from areas of surface loss. The beaker, an exceptionally tall cylindrical drinking vessel with wide band at middle with diamond motif, above is a band of reversed stair-step motifs, the lower register with repeated motif of marine plant or animal forms. In very good condition, unrestored, with one chip at rim, minor surface loss, and hairline crack at rim.
