Ancient Pre Columbian Wari Polychrome Kero Vessel c.500-800 AD. Size 6 1/4 inches high. 4 1/2 inches wide. Central coast, Huari/Wari. An attractive kero or cylindrical beaker with flaring sides and footed base, a vessel popular when Wari and Tiwanaku dominated the central and southern Andes and used for the consumption of chicha (corn Beer) during ceremonies as well as more pedestrian gatherings. keros played a siginificant role in maintaining and buliding social and political relations. This example is decorated with geometric patterns in hues of black, white and reds. Provenance: Provenance: Private Collection of Gustavo Zambrano Meza.
