NEW MARKET, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE PITCHER, lead glazed, approximately one-quart capacity, ovoid form with a beaded rim and foot, and strap handle with a heavy medial ridge and lower thumb impression, partially glazed under base. Probably John G. Coffman (1803-1889), possibly John George Schweinfurt (1825-1907), New Market, Shenandoah Co., VA. 1850-1880. 7 1/2" H, 3 1/4" D rim, 3 3/4" D base.
