Description
STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE PITCHERS, LOT OF TWO, each ovoid form with flared rim, beaded neck, applied strap handle, and pronounced foot, comprising one lead-glazed example with iron-oxide speckles, and one lead- and manganese-glazed over a slip wash example. Probably Jacob Eberly (1830-1908) and Daniel Letcher Eberly (1859-1919), Strasburg, VA. 1886-1903. 6 5/8" and 7" H.

Condition
Slip wash example mostly undamaged except having area of glaze loss to shoulder and some wear to spout; iron-oxide example having rim with a hairline crack, moderate chip, and some flakes, and two minor flakes to foot.
