Elegant composition in Japanese taste, superbly captured contemplative mood of the bird, wonderful quality painting, great brushwork. Silk brocade mounts, lacquered wood scroll ends, couple of crease lines, in great condition overall. Signed GENKI for Takahashi Genki (1911-1978), and marked with red paste seal. Enlargement 6 shows 2 inscriptions on the outside of the scroll. Scroll size 70x14.5 inches, painting size 43x11 inches.
