Japanese Scroll Painting of Crane and Sun, probably late 19th-early 20th century in date, is boldly painted with a red sun dominating the upper part of the scroll and the crane standing in water painted with stylized waves at the lower half. The red sun is dramatically painted against a dark blue background. Branches of a peach tree bearing fruit are silhouetted against the sun. The peach and crane are symbols of longevity.
