Description
Native American, Pacific Northwest, Tlingit or possibly Haida, ca. 1500 to European contact period CE. A beautiful smoothed grey stone club in the form of a fish, with a split tail and a large dorsal fin. Stone clubs were made to evoke the wooden clubs used in actual combat; in stone, they had a ceremonial purpose. Size: 18" W x 3.75" H (45.7 cm x 9.5 cm); 7.75" H (19.7 cm) on included custom stand.
