Lot of 3 Circa 1870s RILEY B. WITTER Tintype, CDV (carte-de-visite), and Visiting Card. Research indicates that Riley B. Witter was from Brooklyn, Windham County, Connecticut. In 1906, he was a Republican Candidate for the Connecticut state house of representatives. Included in this lot is an occupational tintype (3-3/4" x 2-1/2") photograph of Riley B. Witter with horse team, and delivery wagon full of wooden barrels. There is a CDV photograph (2-5/8" x 4") with period pencil written identification on the reverse, "R. B. Witter". Also included is a visiting card (3-3/4" x 2-3/8") Mr. & Mrs. R. B. Witter - Ellen Clapp. Research indicates that Ellen Clapp was the wife of Riley B. Ritter and that she died in 1879. Condition: overall light soiling and light surface scuffs, occasional dings and edge wear. carte de visite has trimmed edges.
