Ivory silk printed with pink roses, bodice having an overlay and long sleeve of cream Honiton lace with embroidered lace appliqués, trained printed skirt with an overlay of tulle figured with small flowers, lace and embroidery, hemmed with a band of rose-pink velvet, covered rope hem band. Petersham label "Mme. Lévilion, 14 Rue de Rome, Paris". Christie's auction tag "15 July 1986 16/4" Auction catalog describes ensemble: This... belonged to Mrs. Depree, wife of Colonel C. G. Depree, Surveyor General of India toward the end of the last century, sister of Lord Haig, and grandmother of the present owner, this particular dress is believed to have been sent out to India for a Viceregal Ball at the Peterhof in Simia, ", B-40, W-30, L-35-57. (Small holes in tulle, age toning and several tears to lace, scattered small stains) good.
