Description
Ivory satin with a serpentine floral brocade in yellow and lime, back-lacing bodice having short, puffed green velvet sleeve, insert and trim with bands of tulle decorated with glass and gold beads, gilt metal pansies and lace ruffles, hook & eye closures, trained skirt with self bow at waist, beaded band, lace ruffle and velvet ribbon edge to hem. Petersham label "Whimp, Leeds". Larson inventory attributes dress to Princess Alexandra, no further provenance found as to the Princess of Wales, as wearer. B-36, W-26, L 56-70. (Skirt lining shattering, some small tears to tulle trim, 1/2 inch tear to velvet V-neck) very good.
