Origin: France, early 19th century.
Length – 85,1 cm.
Blade: Single edged blade of significant curvature, with one wide fuller. Blade has later etchings “Garde Imperiale†in a frame with anchors. Length of the blade 70,5 cm, width 4,1 cm.
Hilt: Brass closed guard, connected with round pommel. Guard with a shield shape plates with later engravings of anchors. Front quillon bent towards the blade and ends with a round head. Pommel with brass fittings, covering part of the grip, longer in the back side. Wooden grip covered with original leather and wrapped with brass wire. Iron intact tang rivet on the top of the pommel. Stamp DUC on the guard.
Scabbard: wooden scabbard covered with original black leather, with brass fittings and two suspension rings, leather sewed in reverse side of the scabbard.
Condition report: blade cleaned, with some small black spots from oxidation. Traces of polishing, scratches and dents. Brass parts of the handle with natural patina, with scratches and dents. Leather of the grip in very good condition. Leather of the scabbard with a certain amount of wear, some cracks. Brass fittings in good condition, with scratches and dents.
