Description
Ancient Near East, Luristan or other cultural area around the Caspian Sea, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A near miniature bronze cast axe head with a narrow, cylindrical socket, and a short blade that flares outward into a crescent form. A small flare rises up from the top of the socket, opposite the blade; the bottom of the socket is slightly rolled. Made to be ceremonial or as a burial good. Size: 2.8" L (7.1 cm); 4.7" H (11.9 cm) on included custom stand.
