Magna Graecia, southern Italy, Apulia, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A Greek pottery skyphos (wine cup) with a rounded body and horizontal twin loop handles on a short, round, concave foot. The body has a fired glossy black surface with a beautiful iridescent patina. Size: 6.1" W x 3.05" H (15.5 cm x 7.7 cm)
Provenance: private Carlton collection, Los Angeles, California, USA acquired between 1965 and 1980
