Description
Title/Content of Map: 'A correct map of the countries surrounding the Garden of Eden, or Paradise, with the course of Noah's Ark during the Flood' The map covers the Old Testament biblical lands from the Caucasus south to the Persian Gulf, including parts of present day Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Kuwait, Armenia, Azerbaijan & Georgia. The Black Sea and Caspian seas are marked. Noah is indicated to have built the Ark at Cyparisson, near Mosul in present-day Iraq, before piloting it to Jawat, near Baku in present day Azerbaijan, and then on to a curiously misplaced Mount Ararat, shown on the map to be in present-day western Iran (it is in fact in eastern Turkey).
