Description
VICTORIAN BRASS HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, blue hobnail dome-form shade, cast harp with acanthus leaves and scroll ornamentation, supporting a brass font holder, stamped-brass elements include shade and crown bands, leveler, smoke bell and motor cover, cast-iron vertical spring-loaded motor, brass font with side-refill feature and impressed "THE IMPROVED", overall scroll pattern. Fitted with a period slip burner, colorless cut-facet prisms and colorless slip chimney. Late 19th/early 20th century. 35" HOA. Shade 6" H, 13 7/8" D base, 5 3/4" D rim.
Undamaged lamp and shade. Burner air-draft sleeve with a light dent, possibly a replaced flame spreader, chimney undamaged.
