EDWARD MILLER & CO BRASS HANGING / LIBRARY LAMP, Hobbs Snowstorm dome-form shade in cranberry/Ruby with opal overlay, cast harp with a wreath to each side depicting a young child bowing a horn within foliage ornamentation, supporting a brass font holder with swirl pattern, stamped-brass elements include a shade and crown bands, leveler, smoke bell and motor cover, cast-iron horizontal spring-loaded motor with "1892" patent date, brass drop-in font with side-refill feature. Fitted with an electrified Success slip burner, period deep red/ruby slip chimney, colorless cut-facet prisms. Late 19th/early 20th century. 40" HOA. Shade 6 3/4" H, 13 3/4" D base, 5 7/8" D rim.
Excellent condition, shade undamaged and with normal roughness to rim, as made, font with significant splits and some interior alterations/losses. Burner lacking components, prisms with expected roughness, fitter with minute flakes/roughness.
