Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed at $500**

Roman Empire, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A delicate free-blown pale green glass vessel with a minute concave base, a spherical body that flows upwards into a very narrow neck ending in a trefoil lip, and an applied undulating trail handle. A single thin band of white rigaree traverses from the middle of the neck downward around the body and ends at the bottom of the base. Silvery iridescence with violet-hued highlights are visible in the interior of the body. After the invention of blown glass in the first century CE, glass became easy to mass-produce, and so glass items entered everyday Roman life for the majority of householders. Size: 2" W x 3.5" H (5.1 cm x 8.9 cm)
